Sony G Master Alternative?
After the successor of very popular sony full frame lens alternative Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 comes with the very low price Tamron recently announced new Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 which match with the very expensive Sony G master 16-35mm f/2.8 but in my point of view like the previous Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 this lens also cost the low price compared to the Sony G master lenses, which is the good news for the sony full frame user who can't afford the really expensive Sony G master lenses.
We are excepting the new Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 is going to be the same as the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 in terms of the image quality, build quality and more importantly price which is very less if you compare to the Sony native lenses. This lens is going to be very useful for low light and wide shot because it has f/2.8 aperture which produces better bokeh and low light performance.

Tamron's upcoming 17-28mm is said to be very compact and lightweight. With only a 67mm filter size compared to the Sony 16-35mm GM's which has 82mm, and it's very easy to get a small size filter in compared to the big filter size. Also, big filters are much more expensive.
Tamron says that it’s very good for landscape, astrophotography and architectural shooting, but then goes on to say that it offers very quick and silent autofocus. and also f/2.8 constant aperture is very useful for low light situations.

Tamron is going to release three lenses Tamron FE 17-28mm F2.8, at the same time SP 35mm F1.4, 35-150mm F2.8-4 and the idea is Tamron wants to complete the holy trinity lenses for the third party users who can't afford the expensive native lens.

Price and Release Date
All three lenses will be presented at the CP+ 2019 trade show in Japan. Also, no word on pricing from Tamron yet, I'm expecting all of the three lenses comes less than $1,000 if you see the previous release Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 cost $850 so you can expect these lenses will also come with the same price. but the company expects all three to be available in the middle of the year.
And while the Sony 16-35 f/2.8 GM is known for its exceptionally high-quality optics and has a longer zoom range, But the Tamron 17-28 in the other side will also be about 2cm shorter and perhaps 1/2 pound lighter. And $1000 less expensive? Let’s hope.
